Understanding Cat Health

All cats can be Healthy Felines, but some may need more help than others in certain areas. That’s where we at The Healthy Feline comes in! Health can be measured in these categories:

Medically → Let’s make sure your cat is in tip-top shape before we do anything. A recent visit to your veterinarian is a requirement for any of our services.

Mentally → Enrichment, a low stress environment, one-on-one time, daily playtime, environmental resources and other factors all impact the mental health of our cats.

Physically → Now we all love a chonky cat… but unfortunately overweight cats have a harder time with movement, are more prone to disease, and can ultimately live shorter lives. Muscle tone and physical ability allows a cat to be a cat!

Nutritionally → We are what we eat… and if our cats aren’t getting proper nutrition, they certainly will not be living their best lives. Health starts with nutrition.

When we focus on these four categories, our cats can thrive in our homes. Medical health, mental and physical exercise, and excellent nutrition are the backbone for a healthy feline. Even if you are managing a problematic behaviour, like inappropriate use of the litter box for example, start with these four areas and you will likely see improvement. It’s not magic! Promise.

If you are saying to yourself “but how!” then please get in touch. The Healthy Feline would be very happy to help you on this journey.
